I have a Sleep Number bed. It allows me to adjust the firmness or softness that I want it. And as I shared in the podcast, this bed allows me to have a straight spine. I achieve this by using a firm setting.
I’m not an affiliate for The Sleep Number Bed, but I like them so much that it’s the the first bed that comes to mind when I want to recommend a bed to someone.
The pillow that I use is actually one that is not common at all. It’s Tony Little’s DeStress Micropedic pillow. It comes in a small and large size. I recommend both. I love this pillow and bought several for myself and for gifts. I have used type of pillow for more than a dozen years.
In my mind, no other bed or pillow compares to these two. And yes, I don’t deny that both are more expensive than the average bed or pillow BUT since we spend so much time sleeping…. what seems like a splurge is really just an investment in our rest and wellbeing.
My favorite type of blanket for the whole year…. are down-alternative blankets. They’re light. And cool and warm at the same time. They seem to adjust to my body temperature the best.
OH! I almost forgot! One of the best things that helps me get a good night’s sleep are blackout curtains. I recommend getting the thickest ones you can, doubling them with your regular curtains if you want, and getting as many as you can to block as much of the sunlight as possible.
Here are some extra things that you might find useful. I am an Amazon Affiliate so I do get a small commission if you choose to use my links.
These are the sheets that I used. The ones I used to have before these that I really loved were the ones by Oprah’s designer, Nate Berkus… but I wore them out and I had to replace them with something else. I don’t believe Nate has bedsheets anymore, but if you run across them somewhere, I recommend them. They feel quite soft.
Since we sleep the best in rooms that are super dark, I also recommend that you cover extra lights. They’re ONLY $1.99. I like covering the lights on my cables.

Hey! Welcome back to Voluptuous Questions! My name is Haydee, and today, I wanna ask you a semi personal question. May I? I’ll take that as a yes. Today’s question is, what is YOUR favorite sleeping position and why? Are you a left side sleeper, a right side sleeper, a back sleeper, a tummy sleeper or a combination of any of these? My favorite sleeping position is probably the most uncommon one and it TOTALLY highlights the fact that I’m quite different from most people. I sleep on my tummy with my head turned either to the left or to the right and with both hands and arms tucked under the pillow.
Haydee [00:01:24]:
I don’t put my hands under the pillow because I NEED the pillow to be more supportive. It’s simply the way I got used to sleeping. As a matter of fact, I’ve slept like this most of my life for as long as I remember. I can either sleep on my tummy with my legs straight down as if they’re making the number 11 and sometimes, I cross 1 leg behind the opposite knee so that it looks like a number 4. I know that sleeping on one’s tummy is not the most recommended position to sleep in, BUT I pretty much can never fall asleep unless I’m in this position. The reason I love this position so much is because the moment I feel pressure on my stomach when I’m in this position, I start relaxing. It’s like whatever was worrying me starts to disappear, and I can be more at peace and more at ease.
Haydee [00:02:21]:
I’ve tried to train myself to sleep laying flat on my back because that’s one of the best sleeping positions to truly get a beauty rest. I have even tried going to bed laying on my side because that’s also a recommended position, BUT I usually can’t fall asleep like that. However, many times, I do wake up while I’m on my back or on my side, yet sometimes I wake up while sleeping on my tummy. But I’m not worried about going to sleep or waking up on my tummy because both my mattress and my pillow are firm enough to keep my spine aligned, meaning straight across the mattress. And my pillow is really adjustable. So I don’t worry about that. So as you can tell, I do move while sleeping. Maybe a little bit more than the average person, but that’s okay. Thankfully, I do get a good night’s rest. I’ll share some of the things I love to support my sleep.
