How are you doing? Welcome to Voluptuous Questions! My name is Haydee, and you are EXACTLY whom I was looking for because it’s time to interview YOU! Without further ado, let’s get started with today’s question. What are your top 3 favorite Christmas songs? This is one of those questions where you might just need a few seconds to put your songs in order, or you need more time to TRULY think about what those Christmas songs are for YOU. I had my 3 favorite Christmas songs ready right away. I’ll share with you what my 3 favorite Christmas songs are starting off with the one I like least. My 3rd favorite song is Carol of the Bells. I REALLY love that song.
Haydee [00:01:21]:
It has a lot of oomph to it. The melody is divine. I also like the speed, the passion, the intention, I love its elegance, how dynamic it is, its presence and even though this song commands attention, it’s also freeing. It reminds me of prancing, dancing and flying. It’s a strong Christmas song in my opinion. There are MANY versions of this song, and most of them sound LOVELY.
Haydee [00:02:01]:
This holiday season, when the radio started playing Christmas songs after Thanksgiving (and, yep, I DO listen to the radio sometimes, by the way 😂), Carol of the Bells was THE song I wanted to hear the most. And I heard it when I was putting up the Christmas tree, so it was PERFECT timing. My second favorite Christmas song is a TRUE classic. It’s All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. To me, it doesn’t matter how many years go by or how many times I’ve heard this song. It never goes out of style. Ironically, I was hearing a recent interview where Mariah said that when she was composing this song, she was REALLY aiming to create a song that became a classic that could be relevant year after year. She achieved exactly that.
Haydee [00:02:55]:
This song doesn’t disappoint because from the time it was launched in November 1994 (can you believe it?) to now, it’s been loved by so many people ALL around the world. So much so that this week, this song is once again # 1 on the Billboard GLOBAL Charts. There has been no other holiday song that has spent more than 2 weeks as the # 1 song on the Holiday 100 List. And this song has that record. That’s awesome, isn’t it? 👏 I know that there are MANY wonderful Christmas songs, but my favorite song is Last Christmas by WHAM!. I LOVE it because I’m a romantic at heart, and I like sensual music, SO this song is THE perfect fit. I LOVE singing this song because It’s a very fun song to sing (as well as the Mariah song, of course) but Last Christmas has that seductive tone to it that is PERFECT for pretending that you’re dedicating it to someone OR actually dedicating it to them, in your mind at least 😂. I especially love singing the part that says, “I’ll give it to someone special.”
Haydee [00:04:17]:
If you listen closely to my top 2 favorite holiday songs, you’ll notice that both of them are talking to that one special person this holiday season. Mariah’s is more hopeful. WHAM!’s is less hopeful. But the importance of these songs is communication toward that person that you love or that you once loved. It would be awesome if someone dedicated the All I want for Christmas is you song to me. That would be SUPER romantic for sure. Knowing that someone dedicated Last Christmas to you will NOT be that romantic 😂. I hope that this Christmas, you actually have someone who you really love and that really loves you, by your side.
Haydee [00:05:08]:
They don’t have to dedicate these songs to you, but what’s important is that they’re dedicated to LOVING you.
